Instructor and Volunteer Coordinator
Petrina Grube joined RIT in September 2021. She speaks English and Spanish. She teaches Level 1-3 English language instruction for Good Samaritan Family Resource Center in the Mission in San Francisco.
Petrina has a Master’s degree in Teaching from the University of San Francisco. Before joining RIT, Petrina taught community-based adult ESL at the Iowa Institute in Venezuela, as well as with the San Francisco Day Labor Program and Faith in Action Bay Area. She also taught K-8 Spanish for 15 years at a variety of schools in San Francisco.
Petrina has been active in supporting the Latino immigrant community in the San Francisco Bay Area over the years through activism and volunteer work with Interfaith Movement for Human Integrity, Faith in Action Bay Area, the San Francisco Day Labor Program, Latino Task Force, and UndocuFund. To broaden her skills and knowledge, Petrina recently earned a Community Health Work certificate through San Francisco City College focusing on working with Latino families through the Bridges Clinic at San Francisco General Hospital. She is honored to join the efforts of RIT and Good Samaritan Family Resource Center to empower the immigrant community through language learning and community-based education.
