Childcare and Education Intern

Fathiya joined Refugee & Immigrant Transitions in October 2018. She was born in Yemen, and speaks Arabic and English. She came to United States in 2004 with her family. Fathiya went to middle school in Oakland CA, and attended Oakland Technical High School. She joined RIT because she likes to work with little kids, and has experience as a babysitter. She especially likes to work with refugee and immigrant kids, so they can be part of the community. As Fathiya is herself an immigrant, she understands immigrants' needs.
